Dan and Cheryl Strickland of New Bern announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn A. Strickland of New Bern, to Nathan L. Toler of New Bern.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Shelton and Sherri Toler of New Bern.

The bride-elect graduated from Craven Community College and is employed by Eastern Nephrology Associates and Johnston Ambulance Service.

The bridegroom-elect graduated from Wilson Community College and is employed by Johnston Ambulance Service.

A wedding is planned for Sept. 20, 2008, at Temple Baptist Church.
